Shashi Aithal

Senior Fellow

Biography

Dr. Shashi Aithal is a computational scientist in CELS directorate at Argonne National Lab and a Senior Fellow of the CI.  Dr. Aithal's primary interests   are in the modeling and simulation of a wide variety of propulsive and energy conversion systems. Prior to joining ANL in 2009, he held research positions in the industry for 10 years working on a wide-range of problems in computational physics.  Over the years he has worked on developing robust modeling tools to study reacting and plasma flows occuring in scramjets, liquid-rocket engines, electric propulsion devices and automotive engines. At ANL, Dr. Aithal is continuing his work on thermal-hydraulics of nuclear reactors, engine simulations and investigation of high-speed combustion and   detonation of reacting mixtures.
