Charles Macal

Biography

Charles Macal is the Co-Director of the Complex Adaptive Systems Group at Argonne National Laboratory, and a Senior Research Associate at the University of Chicago. He has over 25 years experience developing advanced modeling and simulation applications for the US government and international agencies, and his areas of specialty include critical infrastructure, energy security, and social systems. Dr. Macal also co-authored a book entitled Managing Business Complexity. He received his BS and MS in Engineering Sciences from Perdue University, and his PhD from Northwestern University in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences.
